University Integrity and Compliance Organizational Chart
Clay Simmons has served as the Chief Compliance Officer since August 2018. He oversees programs designed to promote and maintain the university's culture of respect and honesty, builds ethics consciousness into the daily activities of faculty and staff, and maintains the university’s compliance with the law in the increasingly complex higher education regulation environment. He directs the office of University Compliance and Ethics, which supports the university in risk assessment, training and general education, operational support, effort coordination, and monitoring of program effectiveness. Mr. Simmons has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. He most recently served at Oregon State University as Chief Compliance Officer, where he developed the university’s first compliance and ethics program. Prior to Oregon State, he was instrumental in developing the compliance program at the University of Texas at Austin, where he served as Deputy Director of University Compliance Services. Clay also has held compliance positions at Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, and the Texas A&M University System.
