The Student Wellbeing Champion Award recognizes staff who foster a sense of belonging, community, and wellness, creating supportive environments where students thrive. Up to one recipient may receive a one-time payment of $2,000 and a commemorative engraved gift, which is presented during the Staff Appreciation Luncheon during Staff Appreciation Month.

Eligibility:

  • Nominee must be in a UNT retirement-eligible staff position for at least six consecutive months.
  • Nominee must not have received any formal disciplinary action or performance improvement plan within the twelve months prior to the nomination date.
  • Nominee may not have received the award within the previous three years.

Criteria:

  • Nominee demonstrates initiative in refining or creating student-focused processes or services.
  • Nominee enhances clarity, accessibility, or flexibility of student pathways.
  • Nominee contributes to tangible improvements in student experience or engagement.
